This series contains transcripts of the Boer War and First World War diaries of Mary Ann “Bessie” Pocock. The first transcript in the series relates to Pocock’s nursing service at the 2nd Stationary Hospital at East London and the 17th Stationary Hospital at Middelburg during the Boer War. The second through fifth transcript in the series relates to Pocock’s nursing service during the First World War, namely with the 2nd Australian General Hospital in Egypt and France, on the hospital ship Assaye, with the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station near Belgium, and at the Australian convalescent hospital at Cobham Hall in England.
