This vacation visit beautiful VIETNAM
American anti-war poster in the form of a satirical travel poster. It shows two caricatured American soldiers advancing amidst bomb blasts with military and civilian planes flying overhead. The slogan encourages the viewer to book a vacation with Far Eastern Airways to beautiful Vietnam.
Pandora Productions Inc. was a commercial poster company established by artists David Nordahl, Dean Kenter and Bart de Malignon in Minneapolis in 1964. The company made concert posters including backlight posters (printed with inks that flouresce under a black light) and anti-war posters.
An Australian soldier, Corporal Peter Dew (38607), Royal Australian Survey Corps, appropriated this American design and created an Australian version by changing the soldier’s helmets, rifles and insignia stripes. Dew served under Section A, 1st Topographical Survey Troop. (See: ARTV00323)
