Description

Stamped steel 30 round magazine for 5.56mm rounds. The magazine is slightly curved, and fitted with a steel spring and follower. The magazine has three stamped corrugations on each side. The two rear-most corrugations extend the length of the magazine. The magazine has a dark grey finish, which is heavily worn, revealing the parent metal underneath. The left side of the magazine is stamped with 'Colt's Mfg. Hartford Conn', while the left side is stamped ' Restricted Military Govt/Law Enforcement/export use only'. The base plate is stamped with the Colt horse logo and 'Cal 5.56mm Colt's Mfg Co Inc Hartford Conn USA'

History / Summary

This magazine is typical of that which is used with M4 carbines and M16 rifles. It has changed little over the period from the mid 1960s to the mid 2010s, although a number of lighter weight polymer magazines are now in common use.
