Collection related to the service of William Strong Abraham
Description
Informal portrait of three Australian soldiers on camels in front of the Sphinx and a pyramid. Identified on the far left sitting on the camel is 744 Private (Pte) William Strong Abraham. Pte Abraham originally from Geraldton WA was a labourer prior to enlistment. He embarked with the 11th Battalion from Fremantle on HMAT Ascanius (A11) on 31 October 1914 and was killed in action in France on 22 July 1916 - 25 July 1916, aged 34.
