Description
Collection relating to the Vietnam War service of 2787278 Private John Alexander Campbell, 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.
Consists of six original handwritten letters (with envelopes) written by Private Campbell. Five letters are to Denise Lovric, and one to Larry Lovric, all dated between July 1967 to June 1968. Larry and Private Campbell were workmates, Denise was Larry's younger sister. The letters details patrols, drinking, life back home, and weather. The letter to Larry talks about death and the possibility of getting shot. Private Campbell was killed in action in Vietnam on 3 August 1968.
