Hand-coloured and retouched portrait of 1797 Private (Pte) Edward John Bounds, 34th Battalion. Pte Bounds was killed in action on 3 April 1918 in Villers-Bretonneux. In this portrait, the rank insignia for Corporal has been retouched on Pte Bounds' sleeve and incorporated into the printed, embedded caption in the mountboard.
