Description
181 Private (Pte) Timothy William McCristal, 1st Light Horse Regiment, preparing to return to the trenches the day before he was wounded during the attack on a Turkish position on 7 August 1915 and invalided back to Australia. Pte McCristal then served briefly as a recruitment sergeant due to his background as a leader and speaker in the trade union movement.
