Studio portrait of 2088 Private (Pte) Fergus Decimus Forbes, 1st Battalion, of Brooklands, Rydalmere, NSW. A railway porter prior to enlistment, Pte Forbes embarked with the 5th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 25 June 1915. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 8 August 1915, aged 19.
