Description
Private (Pte) Andrew Roberts, a soldier serving with the 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR) armed with a belt-fed Maximi light machine gun, looks out over the perimeter of his base at Tarin Kowt, Uruzgan province, Afghanistan. Roberts is a proud descendant of the Kamilaroi and Bundjalung Aboriginal Nations. Roberts is the great-grand son of William Wallace Chatfield, who served during the First World War with the Australian Army. The Memorial collection holds two images of Chatfield, AWM2016.641.1 and AWM2016.641.2.
