Description
One of fifty 35mm colour transparencies related to the service of 240135 Captain (Capt) John Vincent Carlin Brassil, 3RAR, of Maitland, NSW, in 1954. Capt Brassil served as the medical officer for 3RAR in Korea from 1 July - 9 November 1954. The transparencies capture defensive fortifications surrounding 3RAR positions, a performance of the 28 Brigade band, the streets and military cemetery at Pusan, Douglas Dakota and Fairchild C-123 Provider aircraft, medical instruments used by Australian medical officers in Korea and HMAS Sydney. The collection also includes aerial views of the battalion headquarters 3RAR and the post-armistice landscape including Imjin river and views from Kamak-San mountain.
