Okada, Seizo (Japanese war correspondent, b.1913 - d.1994)
Description
Manuscript titled "Lost Troops", describes the Japanese campaign to attack Port Moresby by an overland march from Buna. Covers the advance and retreat, Australian and American attacks, difficulties of terrain, climate, disease, shortages of food. Notes on meeting with a missionary in New Guinea, Father Benson. A copy of this manuscript can also be found in the Memorial's Official Records collection at AWM54 492/4/62.
