History / Summary
The markings on this rifle indicate that it was issued to the 6th Australian Infantry Regiment in the State of Victoria. It was apparently captured by the Turks during the war and after the armistice found in the possession of Turkish troops at Batoun in the Black Sea by the captain of HMS Sentinel who relieved them of it.
