Description
Head and shoulder portrait in profile of an unidentified soldier wearing his slouch hat. Frederick enlisted 5 January 1918 in Sydney, New South Wales. He was posted to the Field companies Engineers, 1st Draft Reinforcements, as a surveyor and draftsman. Bolton embarked from Sydney to London on HMAT "Runic" on 22 March 1918 and arrived London 24 May 1918. This sketchbook documents his brief service of four months.
