This file contains 10 letters from Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood to Lord Horatio Herbert Kitchener between 3 May 1915 and 16 January 1916. These letters discuss the landing at Gallipoli, early days at Anzac Cove, Lone Pine, and the evacuation of Anzac Cove, Suvla Bay and Helles. Included in this file is a copy of a poem about Lieutenant General Sir Frederick Stanley Maude that was discovered at Helles on 9 January 1916.
