Studio portrait of 421932 Pilot Officer (PO) Donald Patterson RAAF, 635 Squadron RAF. A government clerk prior to enlisting on 24 April 1942, PO Patterson embarked for training in Canada as a navigator. After completing training, PO Patterson was attached to the RAF in the United Kingdom. PO Patterson was killed on operations in Germany on 24 December 1944. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
