Group portrait of eight non-commissioned officers (NCOs) of A Company, 37th Battalion. Left to right, back row: Corporal (Cpl) Waterson (446 Cpl Thomas Roy Waterson); Cpl Bartell [sic] (Leneva) (1794 Cpl Rudolph Ernest Bartel (not Bartell)); Cpl Lawless (1866 Cpl William Roy Lawless or 27 James Richard Lawless or 737 Cpl Reuben Keith Lawless, KIA 10 August 1918) and Sgt Davies [sic] (1932 Sergeant Arthur Ernest Davis MM (not Davies)). Front row: Sgt Cawood (251 Sgt Victor Charles Cawood); CSM Robinson [sic] (36 Company Sergeant Major John Robison MM (not Robinson)); Sgt Douglas (571 Sgt Thomas Robert Douglas) and Sgt Brindley (85 Sgt Thomas Brindley). Most or possibly all of these men transferred to the 38th Battalion on 12 October 1918 when the 37th Battalion was disbanded and merged with other battalions.
