NOTE NATIVE LABOURERS EMPLOYED THROUGH THE AUSTRALIAN NEW GUINEA ADMINISTRATION UNIT, ON THE RIGHT. CHURCH OF ENGLAND CHAPLAIN, N281115 CHAPLAIN A. H KIRK, TOOK A MOST ACTIVE PART IN ITS CONSTRUCTION. THE FIRST SERVICE WAS HELD ON EASTER SUNDAY, 1943-04-25 AND THE CHURCH WAS DEDICATED ON THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY, 1943-05-02, BY THE BISHOP OF NEW GUINEA, THE RIGHT REVEREND P. N. W. STRONG, "THE CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION".
