Next of kin (Bobby Limb's Sound of Music)
A Valentine's Day special segment from the variety television show 'Bobby Limb's Sound of Music' has Bobby in the Channel 9 studio with the wives of servicemen currently deployed to Vietnam. Several of the women have selected songs for their loved ones which are performed live in the studio. Women featured are Mrs Elliot wife of 27045 WO2 Allan Elliot requests 'Shillelagh' which is sung by Darryl. Mrs Ducie wife of 29 113 Captain Ronald Arthur Ducie, 1 RAR request is 'Ah sweet mystery of life' and is sung by Roslyn. Mrs Geappen wife of 16352 Corporal Cecil Robert Geappen, 1 RAR. Miss Kathleen Hodson fiancée to 214083 Private Barry Glover, 1 RAR. Mrs Yvonne Buckley wife of 1252 Captain Thomas James Buckley DSM, 1 RAR request 'Blue Berry Hill' sung by Tom. Bobby Limb introduces Sammy Woods who performed in Vietnam with the with Bobby Limb, Gus, Frank and the Big Pretzel as the camera pans to show all the wifes seated on stage. Sammy Woods then sings 'May the Good Lord bless and keep you'. A 16mm kinescope film recording of this special section of the show was to be sent to Vietnam for screening.
