Beating the retreat ceremony Indian, Anzac Oval
Description
Prior to embarking on the troopship Devonshire on their way home to India, the 2/5th Royal Gurkha Pipe Band and the red coated Kumaons Band performed their last ceremony together in Japan by beating the Retreat. The ceremony was attended by the Commander in Chief 34 (VX20321, VX80578) Lieutenant General Horace Clement Hugh Robertson; Brigadier Satyawant Mallannah Shrinagesh and Air Vice Marshal McAuley, and unit commanders and their wives. Also identified: Mrs Shrinagesh; Mrs Robertson.
