Description

On 19 April 1946 the first annual pilgrimage of the Rats of Tobruk took place at the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne, Vic. The men gathered some little distance from the Shrine and, headed by a Scottish pipe band, marched to the steps to hear an address given by VX46983 Brigadier Raymond Walter Tovell CBE DSO; after the address the men filed into the Shrine where a short service was held.
