25 Australian Infantry Battalion in action Slater's Knoll
Early in the morning of 5th April, in South Bougainville, a sizeable enemy force attacked the HQ 25th Australian Infantry Battalion and a platoon of "C" Company. Sixty men were cut off from their command but continued to fight until tanks were brought in. The men were supplied from the air and with the assistance of tanks, quickly over-ran the Japanese raiding parties. Shows natives pointing out enemy positions on a map to Intelligence officers.
