RAAF jets prepare for Darwin exercise
Description
Over 70 aircraft of the RAAF, RAF and RNZAF are preparing for the major air defence exercise of 1972, coverage on Darwin and Tindal in the Northern Territory. Mark 2 Phantoms and Canberra jets supported by Vulcan bombers of RAF and Douglas A4 Skyhawks attack bombers of the RNZAF the exercise, code-named "Top Limit", will be directed by Air Vice Marshal W.E. Townsend, Air Officer commanding, RAAF Operational Command.
