Australian Navy shows efficiency on manoeuvres
Description
An Australian National Film Board production for the Department of Information on a combine naval and air exercise conducted by units of the RAN in the Tasman Sea to test Australia's defences, particularly against submarines. The units involved included the aircraft carrier HMAS Vengeance, Firefly and Sea Fury aircraft, destroyers and land based aircraft (possibly P-51 Mustangs). The role of the enemy was played by the Royal Navy submarine HMS Tactician. Includes good shots of deck landings by Sea Furies and Fireflies. Part of this film was shot from a RAN Sycamore helicopter.
