Life of Turkish prisoners
Columns of Turkish prisoners are escorted by British and Indian troops. These prisoners were captured at Khan Baghdadiya (on the Euphrates) 26 March 1918. There are scenes of prisoners preparing food and a variety of types and uniforms can be seen among the captured Turks. There are some interesting shots of Turkish transport and the animals they used. A parade of Captured Turks and their artillery through Baghdad is also shown. There were not many Australians in the Mesopotamia area and none are evident in this film. It should be noted that the horse teams drawing the captured guns came from British or Indian units and many would have originated in Australia. Turkish gun teams were not of this quality and in many cases oxen were used.
