Therapia, May 19th
Description
This view looks from land across water past a small jetty towards the buildings of Therapia on the Bosporus Strait that separates the Asian part of Turkey from the European part. This drawing is one of 26 illustrations by Mrs Marianne Young (also known as Marianne Postans) prepared for her book 'Our Camp in Turkey, and the way to it', published by Richard Bentley, London 1854. Due to the outbreak of the Crimean War they were not included in the original publication.
