Seninghem where the 44th Battalion billeted in May 1917
Description
A church which is surrounded by a graveyard is shown in the middle of Seninghem village surrounded by a rural landscape. Major Edwin Summerhayes, originally an architect in Perth, Western Australia, served with the 44th Battalion on the Western Front. The 44th Battalion was billeted at Seninghem in May 1917 before the battle of Messines.
