Admiralty House, Tobruk
Description
Originally the Headquarters of the Italian Regia Marina, now British Naval Headquarters. Building was damaged by bombing, causing the collapse of the western wing. The red flag is a warning to town and dock workers of impending enemy air raid, sirens and gongs also being sounded. There is no 'yellow' warning - except perhaps a permanent one. From inside the building a long tunnel leads to a deep shelter, Tobruk, Libya.
