Flight deck, USS Bataan
Description
This is one of several works Frank Norton completed while onboard USS Bataan in July 1952. The artist had transferred onto USS Bataan from HMAS Warramunga (I) who was on the destroyer screen for the American aircraft carrier. Depicted is part of the flight deck of USS Bataan, with F4U1 Corsair aircraft. Upon the flight deck men are working. Out at ocean in the distance is an unidentified ship (possibly a destroyer).
