Jerusalem, from below the Mount of Olives
Description
A landscape with a walled city with mosques in the background. A light horsemen sits under a tree in the left foreground and his horse waits beside him. There are low trees in the middle distance. The British entered Jerusalem on 9 December 1917. As they surrounded the city the last conflict with the retreating Turks was on the Mount of Olives walls.
