Australian matelot and Sinhalese tattooist (Able Seaman Stuart J Vaughan and R H Sam)
Description
A 20-year-old B4773 Able Seaman Stuart Jackson Vaughan from the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, serving with the Eastern Fleet, has a Chinese dragon tattooed on his arm by R H Sam, a Sinhalese tattooist, Colombo, Ceylon. Vaughan joined the RAN in May 1943 and served on minesweepers and "N" class destroyers.
