Head and shoulders portrait, in uniform, of Sister Beryl Emma Burbidge, AANS, Sister in Charge of Australian Army Nursing Service, Land Headquarters Medical Research Unit, Cairns, Queensland. Nora Heysen won the Archibald Prize in 1938 and was appointed official war artist, working in Australia and New Guinea from 1944-1946.
