The road to Buin, South Bougainville
Description
Depicts a scene of natives building corduroy road through jungle, often in extreme conditions of heat and torrential rain. Hundreds of natives, some chopping trees and splitting wood, others laying them across the track. Wearing coloured lap-laps they made a very impressive and colourful show.
