The first all Australian built 3.7 inch anti-aircraft gun
Description
Depicts a drawing of the first all Australian built 3.7 anti-aircraft gun, Commonwealth Ordnance workshop, Maribyrnong, Melbourne. The artist went to great lengths to get the angle of this gun raised three feet as he felt that the level was too low to make an effective picture. After his request travelling up several levels of authority from the assistant on the floor to the General Manager the gun's head was lifted to a ' sharper and more expressive angle' only to be dropped again once he had settled into the drawing by a young man moving an overhead crane.
