Emblem of 101 Anti Tank Regiment
Description
An emblem of the 101 Anti Tank Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, depicting a kangaroo mascot in army uniform cheekily winking at the viewer as he points a bone with one hand and holds three mortar shells with the other. The kangaroo's tail is split into three pointed arrows, and above his head is written the phrase 'the bone pointers' - alluding to the Aboriginal belief that to point a kangaroo bone at someone, in this case the Japanese enemy, is to bring them ill fortune.
