The old tank at Flers
Description
A battle damaged British Mark 1 female tank, with rear external steering mechanism and sponsons on the side, at Flers, on the Western Front. The tank is resting in a war damaged landscape with a number of broken trees on the horizon. Tanks were being used for the first time in Sept 1916 along the front before Bapaume.
