Transporting a new airplane engine from salvage launch to shore by means of native Lakatoi - crashed plane in distance
Description
Papuans are shown assisting moving a new aeroplane engine on a vessel for transportation. This was intended as a pencil study for a larger painting. This work was created when Dargie spent 16 days in December 1942 with the 15 Repair and Salvage Unit (RSU), Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
