Description
Improvised shaving brush made from a length of coconut fibre folded in half, and secured by a length of wire, then pushed down a steel cylinder, which acts as a sleeve for the bristles and a handle.
History / Summary
Type example of a shaving brush made in Changi prisoner of war camp, which housed about 5,000 men. The camp had its own brush factory which turned out 30,000 brushes, from toothbrushes to nail and shaving brushes, during the time it was in operation.
