Description

Type 97 81mm mortar bipod made from steel. The traversing bar is fitted with two buffers, a sight bracket, and level. The bubble is brought central by screwing the milled head on a screw on the left leg. The elevating handle is to the front and works on a part acme thread which prevents any play. The bipod is collapsible for transport. A barrel clamp is fitted. The mortar is painted matt grey. No markings visible.

The Type 97 81 millimeter mortar was a lightened and simplified mortar based on the Type 96 mortar and used by Japanese forces throughout the Second World War.
