Prime Minister Andrew Fisher laying the second stone of the Commencement Column at Kurrajong ...
Description
Prime Minister Andrew Fisher laying the second stone of the Commencement Column at Kurrajong (Capital) Hill in Australia's new capital city, Canberra. The Royal Military College, Duntroon had 60 cadets at this ceremony. This was the first time that these cadets had paraded outside their grounds. It was also the first time that Australia's military forces were at the forefront of celebrations at such a momentous event. Duntroon cadets provided the guard of honour while massed infantry and artillery units from around the country were on hand in full regalia to provide the Royal Salute and take part in the military parade.
