Diary relating to the First World War service of Captain George Lush Finlay MC, 5th Battalion. The diary was written by George Finlay between 10 June 1915 and 1 August 1918. The diary describes his journey to Egypt, time at Gallipoli, evacuation due to enteric fever, his brief return to Australia, his feelings on having to censor others' letters and a detailed account of the attack on Polygon Wood.
