Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX5332 Sergeant Gordon Joseph Field, 2/1 Field Ambulance. Collection consists of 160 letters to his parents during the Second World War, written between November 1939 and November 1943. The letters contain details regarding his training at Holdsworthy, his movement around North Africa, censorship, illness, activities at home, and his correspondence with Enid a girl he met around the beginning of his service and married during his leave in Australia in 1943.
