Dagan, John William
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 3144 Private (Pte) John William Dagan, 52 Battalion AIF. Comprises three handwritten letters, sent by Pte Dagan to his brother Henry and his sister-in-law, Florrie. The first letter was dated 7 December 1916 and sent whilst still in camp before leaving Australia; the second letter is dated 9 February 1918 from England, and includes a small piece of paper with the outline of the shape of the wound he received on his back; and the third letter is undated and he writes of his worsening sight in his left eye, which he says was caused by the wound to his spine.
