Description
Collection relating to Lance Corporal William Sydney Hazelwood, New South Wales Imperial Bushmen, war of South Africa (Boer War). Collection consists of a small handwritten diary kept by Lance Corporal William Sydney Hazelwood (service number 50), with an almost daily account written between July 1900 and January 1901. The diary describes the unit's movements and skirmishes with the Boers, particularly at Elands River and Ottosdoop in August. A list of names and miscellaneous notes appears in the back. A typescript of the diary is also included.
