Group portrait of Allied prisoners of war (POW) in Stalag VII, Moosburg, Germany. Several are wearing AIF battle dress and the remainder are clothed in a variety of jackets and jumpers supplied by the Red Cross. Identified personnel include front row: NX11292 Gunner (Gnr) Stephen Walter McDougal, the 2/3rd Field Regiment RAA, (second from left) and WX71 Driver Vincent Sydney Brennan, the 2/3rd Field Regiment. Two corporals in the front row, one at far left and the other fourth from the right wear distinctive AIF shoulder patches, probably of the 2/1st Battalion. These and the two idendified Australians were captured on Crete in 1941 where both units suffered heavy casualties. Another man, front row third from right, wears a ribbon bar which possibly includes a ribbon for the DCM or MM, and three for WW1 service.
