Description
A theatrical billboard advertising a production by prisoners of war (POW) at Güstrow POW camp in Germany. The poster reads: "British Concert, The Bing Boys, Commence 7.30 p.m. Sunday 8th Sept". "The Bing Boys Are Here" was the first of a series of revues which played at the Alhambra Theatre, London during the last two years of World War I and they are probably the origin of the name used by the POWs for their production group. [See also image P09591.058.] One of a series of 157 images from the collection of 4199 Sergeant William Charles Groves, 14th Battalion, an Australian prisoner of war held at Güstrow POW camp.
