Studio portrait of 1972 Private (Pte) Percy Wilfred Scutt (left) and 2095 Pte Joseph Michael (Joe) Maguire, both of 33rd Battalion. Pte Scutt was a motor driver prior to enlistment, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, with the 2nd Reinforcements aboard HMAT Port Sydney (A15) on 4 September 1916. Pte Scutt served on the Western Front and died of wounds on 9 June 1917; he was 26 years of age. Pte Maquire was a grocer prior to enlistment, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, with the 3rd Reinforcements aboard HMAT Anchises (A68) on 24 August 1916. He returned to Australia on 26 September 1917.
