Paybook photograph of 2400919 Private (Pte) John Lawrence McKandry, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). A resident of Sydney, NSW, prior to enlistment, Pte McKandry commenced service in Korea on 14 August 1952. Pte McKandry was reported assumed missing, presumed killed in action on or after 14 May 1953, aged 22. He is commemorated on Wall 2 in the United Nations Memorial Cemetery, Korea.
