Quartermaster Major Sunshine Collins, S.I. Police Commander Nelson Nausi, Hell's Point Explosives Demolition Facility
Description
The Solomon Islands, particularly the main island of Guadalcanal, was the site of major fighting between Japan and the United States of America from early August 1942 to early February 1943. Years after the war ended, leftover unexploded ordnance (UXOs) are regularly found. Australian defence personnel train Solomon Island police to safely decommission the UXOs. This relationship is represented in this double portrait of Major Sunshine Collins and Solomon Island Police Facility Commander, Nelson Nausi.
