Collection relating to the Second World War service of QX34726 Captain Wilton Douglas Patrick Stewart, 47th Battalion.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Wallet consists of two copies of a 24-page typescript manuscript. The manuscript summarises the service of Captain W.D.P. Stewart in the 47th Battalion during the Second World War, written by Douglas Stewart, the son of Captain Stewart. Summarises Captain Stewart's service record, listing his medal entitlements. Anecdotes relating the subject's service in Milne Bay, Goodenough Island, Kiriwina Island, Nassau Bay, Salamaua, Kunai Spur are included. Captain Stewart's service as Officer-in-charge of the Brisbane-Townsville troop train and in the Legal Branch at Victoria Barracks are summarised. Appendicies include a brief history of the 29th Brigade, a summary of some events run by the 29th Brigade association, and a set of ten captioned photographs.

Wallet also includes a set of hand-written notes used by the author as a reference.
