PERTH, WA. 1943-01-22. IN CELEBRATION OF THE BIRTH OF A THIRD PRINCESS OF ORANGE, DUTCH SERVICE PERSONNEL, LED BY AN AUSTRALIAN MILITARY BAND, MARCHED THROUGH THE STREETS OF PERTH. THE SALUTE WAS TAKEN BY REAR-ADMIRAL CHARLES A. LOCKWOOD JNR, US NAVY. THE LORD MAYOR WAS ALSO AT THE SALUTING BASE. COMMODORE C.J. POPE CBE RAN (LEFT), NAVAL-OFFICER-IN-CHARGE, FREMANTLE, AND CAPTAIN J.C.D. ESDAILE RAN, OF HMAS ADELAIDE, LEAVING THE SALUTING BASE AFTER THE MARCH PAST.
